How to measure your window for readymade curtains
Readymade curtains are made to standard widths and drops, and vary by design (see above).
To obtain the correct size for your window, first measure the width of pole that it will sit on (inside the finials). Then select the next size up from this (in terms of width). Then measure the drop from the top of the pole to where you''d ideally like it to finish, then find the nearest drop. The top of the curtain will start slightly above this, so bear this in mind.
As readymade are standard sizes, you probably won''t find the exact size you require, especially if the drop is full length, however you may be able to find a local curtain maker who can adjust the drop for you (at an extra cost).
